Dayspring’s Spotlight after-school reading tutoring program provides targeted reading instruction two times per week to small groups of learners. The reading instruction is provided by certified teachers and provides individualized, differentiated lessons according to the needs of the learners. Learners who participate in the program will have the opportunity to gain skills and strategies to improve their literacy skills. This program is open to Dayspring learners in 3rd - 5th grade who scored below level 3 on the statewide, standardized English Language Arts (ELA) assessment in the prior school year, learners in 3rd - 5th grade who scored a Level 1 or Level 2 on the grades 3-10 FAST ELA Reading for Progress Monitoring 1 (PM 1), PM 2, or PM 3 in 2022-2023, and learners in Kindergarten - 2nd grade who are identified with a substantial reading deficiency.
