Welcome to Cascade Music Studio! I teach Piano lessons and Music & Movement classes. I am a classically trained pianist with 15 years of teaching experience, and I’m here to facilitate your child’s musical journey with expert technical guidance and historical insights. I also have 8 years of experience in preschool Music and Movement, and will give little ones the auditory and kinesthetic experiences they need for a lifetime of music making! My main goal is to create autonomous learners—capable of decoding notes and internalizing rhythms, so someday they don’t need me anymore! My technique training prevents injury and offers students a new world of tone qualities. I teach using our entire array of cognitive skills, creating capable, lifelong musicians! I also encourage students to experiment and play by ear. I aim to pique their interest in multiple genres and time periods, even pop music and chord charts. Music should be fun, and students are most engaged when THEY choose their goals. Tuition includes three recital opportunities per year—spring, summer, and Christmas. I also offer participation in NFMC Festival for additional modest fees (to the NFMC club). In my studio, every instructional hour is one-on-one with me personally, you will never shuffle teachers, and theory instruction will be relevant to the music your child is making.
