I teach piano and voice/singing lessons for ages 4 and up, including adults. For voice/singing, we will learn warm-ups and technique, how to read and sight-read through rhythm and sol-fa, and study songs students enjoy. For piano, we will start with improvisation, playing by ear, and ear-training, and then we'll use a rhythm and interval-based approach to learn to read music along with theory, technique, improvisation, and more. Students will be able to pursue their interests in music as well, whether songs they wish to perform or learning to read lead sheets and play by ear, etc. Concepts are reinforced through games and activities, and students can also take group lessons to work on ensemble playing as well. Recitals and other performances are offered throughout the year.
