Descripción del proveedor
Kitchen Wit Teaching Kitchen is a garden-based education program rooted in urban agriculture, nutrition, and life skills. Our elective gardening courses empower students to grow their own food while learning how plants, soil, and ecosystems work together to support healthy communities. Led by a USDA-certified Urban Agriculture Specialist through the City of Tampa, Kitchen Wit provides hands-on instruction in: Vegetable gardening and seasonal crop production Seed starting and plant propagation Soil health, composting, and sustainability Pest identification and natural pest management Harvesting, food safety, and garden-to-table education Students actively participate in every stage of the growing process — from planting seeds and caring for crops to harvesting fresh produce and understanding how food nourishes the body. Our program serves homeschool families, youth groups, and community-based learners who want a real-world science and agriculture experience outside of the traditional classroom. Lessons are aligned with STEM principles and emphasize responsibility, environmental stewardship, and healthy living. Kitchen Wit creates a supportive, engaging learning environment where students build confidence, curiosity, and practical life skills. We believe food is medicine, and every child deserves to know how to grow it.
