The Hero's Journey of Learning: Part time tutoring support for grade levels K-12. Rapid math acceleration-specializes in closing achievement gaps helping students leap multiple grade levels in a single year. Evidence based strategies, rooted in neuro-affirming models help to create a custom-fit education for each student. Individual Sessions: "The Origin Story" uncover specific talents and challenges, pinpoint exact stuck points in math or literacy, allowing for focused intervention. Students are taught that like superhero, their vulnerabilities (Dyslexia and ADHD) are often linked to their superpowers (creativity, hyperfocus, out of the box problem solving, and pattern recognition). Group Sessions/Workshops-Immersive World History and Geography-history is brought to life through symbolism and cinema, art, and hands-on projects and challenges, allowing kinesthetics and visual learners to experience the past. Psychology via Pop Culture explores complex human behavior and mental health concepts. This unique framework allows students to explore identity, trauma, and resilience through characters like Batman or the X-Men. The learning environment is flexible to a creative studio or traditional classroom. In addition to core academic support, I offer Strategic Performance Coaching for important tests like the ASVAB and High School Placement exams.
