With over 60 years of personal sewing experience and 25+ years of teaching, I’m passionate about helping tweens, teens, and adults learn how to sew. My method allows students to quickly dive into sewing, with an emphasis on creating professional-quality projects right from the start. We begin with fun, practical projects like pajamas, quilted tote bags, and simple dresses—no “dorky” beginner pieces here! These projects look polished, professional and help students feel proud of their work. The moment they wear or "show off" their creations they hear compliments like, “I LOVE your bag!” and they experience a boost in confidence and excitement, which drives them to continue learning! I’ve developed a curriculum that breaks down sewing into "skills needed" at each level, with seven levels guiding students from beginners to advanced beginners. Parents are often amazed when their children, after just a couple of lessons, are able to sew independently. It’s common for parents to ask, “Can you teach me too?” as they see how quickly their child has mastered the skill and I DO TEACH ADULTS! My teaching method ensures that everyone, regardless of age, can enjoy and excel in sewing, gaining both the skill and the confidence to "own" their craft.
