My name is Marissa Ruiz. I grew up in south Florida where I was able to spend all four years participating in some of the best high school choirs in the state. I then moved to southwest Florida to attend Florida Gulf Coast University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Choral Emphasis (2023). During high school, I always challenged myself to become better vocally by taking vocal and piano lessons myself in preparation for the many choral event auditions available to Florida students. I have now taken students as a music educator myself to many of these events, or produced a musical where I was helping them prepare vocally beforehand. In taking on the individual coaching role, I found a love! I would love to help you achieve your current musical goal and transform you into the talented musician everyone can be. Vocal coaches typically focus more on style and stage presence for a specific piece- a short term goal, while a vocal teacher will help you with the foundations and techniques- I am here to provide both! In my music lessons, you will receive a well-rounded education that includes theory, aural skills, sight-reading, and performance skills and techniques.
