Homeschool Horsemanship - I provide a school type setting Wednesdays from 10-1. We feed and water all the animals on the ranch, In the classroom we study a breed of horse for weeks, the discipline, read portions of the book coinciding with the breed, journal, draw, and add projects. At times, we have special guests like farriers, vet schools, or presentations. We break for lunch and then continue outside to catch and groom horses or play games with horses in hand. From 1:30-3, we continue with progressive horsemanship lessons. We schedule horse related field trips and fun days as well. Progressive Horsemanship Lessons - Saturdays, I schedule 2 separate group lessons for beginner and advanced, 10:30-12 and 12:30-2. Between January and May, I provide a mustang youth challenge where the kids keep notebooks, journals, do chores, and have about 40 goals they have to work on with their horses.
