Outschool is an online learning marketplace offering live, small-group classes and 1:1 tutoring for kids and teens ages 3–18, from preschool through 12th grade. Families can explore thousands of engaging classes across core academic subjects like math (including topics such as addition, algebra, geometry, and calculus), reading, phonics, writing, grammar, science (including biology, chemistry, and physics), and social studies (including history, geography, and civics), as well as enrichment areas like art, drawing, painting, music, coding, robotics, STEM, creative writing, foreign languages (such as Spanish, French, and Mandarin), and life skills. Classes are led by experienced, vetted teachers and designed for elementary, middle, and high school learners, including homeschoolers and afterschool enrichment. Students can build skills in test prep (including SAT and ACT), reading comprehension, essay writing, study skills, public speaking, and critical thinking, or explore interests like anime, gaming, entrepreneurship, and digital design. For families using EMA funds, purchases add flexible credits that can be applied toward scholarship-approved classes. Funds can be used across eligible classes and mixed and matched, giving families the freedom to customize learning based on their child’s needs.
