Sheridan House Family Ministries
Provider description
Sheridan House Family Ministries has a Co-Op program under the homeschool umbrella, tailored for residents in our residential behavioral boys’ program. Located on the Sheridan House campus, our education instructional program offers a distinctive blend of online learning and hands-on instructional curriculum. While not a traditional school, Sheridan House provides an alternative educational approach that embraces diverse learning styles, allowing each resident to develop different methods of learning and information processing. Understanding that academic frustrations often lead to behavioral issues, particularly in boys who may find it easier to act out than to seek help, our program is designed to address these specific challenges. Our dedicated staff works closely with each child to identify their unique academic needs, focusing on building trust and confidence. By providing a supportive and understanding environment, we aim to prevent feelings of defeat and boost self-esteem in their academics. Key components of our program include: Individualized Learning Plans: Tailored to meet the specific academic needs of each resident, ensuring personalized attention and support. Multifaceted Learning Approaches: Combining online curriculum with practical, hands-on activities to cater to different learning styles and preferences. Skill Development: Emphasizing reading, problem-solving, and comprehension skills to overcome academic hurdles that often contribute to challenging.
