The Lucy Project
The Lucy Project, inc
Provider description
The Lucy Project provides full and fair access to evidence-based literacy intervention. We envision a future where all children read. Children with learning differences need individualized, specialist support. Students simply are not getting the resources and human power to make this happen. Structured Literacy is a reading remediation approach that is proven to work. The Lucy Project partners with parents, schools, and community organizations to offer free or subsidized, one-on-one and small group daily reading remediation to children who struggle to read. Our lessons are fun, interactive, and responsive to the changing needs of your child. Trained in Orton-Gillingham (OG) through IMSE (the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education), our tutors use a highly structured approach that breaks reading and spelling down into smaller skills and helps your child build on these skills over time. These multi-sensory teaching strategies are extremely effective for students with dyslexia and other reading-based learning difficulties. We celebrate each child's unique learning style and use each interaction with them as an opportunity to empower their self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
