Gateway Charter School opened in Fall, 2003 in a newly-built 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. The school houses traditional classrooms in addition to specialty rooms and a multipurpose room. At the opening of the 2008-2009 school year over 20 classrooms, including two fully equipped science labs, and additional office space was built as an extension to the existing building. Also included in this extension a larger multipurpose room, additional facilities, and outdoor recreational areas. Elementary School Capacity: 1,600 Mission Empowering Lifelong Learners and Leaders We believe it's important to address social and emotional skills to build a strong positive environment that engages our students. That's why at Gateway every student is a mentor and mentee. Students act as mentors for lower grades and are mentored by those in higher grades. Each student also participates in a social-emotional enrichment class that encompasses the well-being of the whole child. These experiences help build our student's self-confidence, character, and leadership. Vision All stakeholders will share the commitment to develop students, who are reflective, life-long learners prepared to contribute to society.
