Provider description
Provider: Michelle Morcate, MSEd., MSW As a teacher with a masters in Exceptional Student Education/ Special Education K-12, I offer customized part‑time tutoring in both individual and group settings to empower students’ social–emotional growth. My goal is to develop essential skills that foster self determination, emotional regulation, and effective self-advocacy for neurodivergent students, including students with an Autism, ADHD, or other related diagnosis. Services include: 1. Individual Tutoring - Emotional Literacy & Vocabulary: Teaching students to identify, label, and express feelings accurately. We build a nuanced emotional vocabulary as the foundation for self-awareness. - Coping Strategies: Teaching tailored techniques—such as breathing exercises, self‑talk, visualization, and grounding methods—to support students in managing stress, anxiety, anger, and other intense emotions. - Self‑Regulation & Self‑Advocacy: Equipping students with the tools to recognize emotional triggers, employ proactive regulation strategies, set personal goals, request support, and communicate needs effectively to teachers, parents, and peers. 2. Small Group Sessions (2–6 Students) - Peer‑Supported Emotional Literacy: Facilitating interactive activities—such as role-play, expressive arts, shared reading, emotion check-ins—to deepen students’ understanding of emotions in real-life contexts, promote empathy, and build collaborative coping skills.
